Dharamshala, Sept. 3 -- Drinking water supply to several parts of Dharamshala city has been affected after heavy landslides in the Naddi area which damaged the main gravity pipelines supplying water to the Dharamshala Town Water Supply Scheme.

Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Dharamshala, Sumit Katoch said the Naddi Water Treatment Plant supplies around 4.40 million litres per day (MLD) of drinking water to Dharamshala city.

He said continuous rainfall triggered landslides in the Naddi area, disrupting the water supply system. Teams of the Jal Shakti Department have been deployed at the site and repair and restoration work on the damaged pipelines has been taken up on priority.
