Dharamshala, July 21 -- A major drinking water transmission pipeline supplying water from the Ghera water source was damaged following a landslide in the Ghera forest area, disrupting regular water supply to several parts of Dharamshala.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra Hemraj Bairwa told UNI that to ensure continuity of water supply, drinking water is currently being provided through the Naddi Water Treatment Plant.
However, owing to the limited availability of water, temporary rationing of water distribution may be implemented in the affected areas.
He said restoration work on the damaged transmission pipeline is being carried out on a war footing.
