Aizawl, March 3 -- Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh on Tuesday administered the oath of office to Lalzirmawia Chhangte, as the new State Information Commissioner under the Mizoram State Information Commission (MSIC) at a formal ceremony held in the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan here.
The appointment marks the induction of a senior retired bureaucrat with over three decades of administrative experience into the state's transparency watchdog.
At the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena read out the official notification appointing Dr Chhangte to the post.
The Governor thereafter administered the oath, formally entrusting him with the responsibilities of upholding the Right to Information framework in the state.
