Keylong, Dec. 29 -- In view of the likelihood of fresh snowfall and prevailing sub-zero conditions, the district administration has issued a detailed travel advisory urging commuters and tourists to exercise utmost caution while travelling in the region over the coming days.
According to the advisory issued by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), upper reaches of the valleys and mountain passes are already witnessing extreme cold, with widespread icing reported on several road stretches.
The phenomenon of "black ice" has made roads highly slippery, particularly in shaded areas and high-altitude passes, significantly increasing the risk of accidents.
