Amethi, Oct. 24 -- A 60-year-old labourer returning home after a day's work was beaten to death with sticks and sharp weapons in Amethi, police said, adding three assailants fled the scene following the attack last night.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which has once again brought Gungwachh village into the spotlight.
According to the complaint filed late at night by the victim's brother, Dharmaraj, two individuals, neighbour Ravi Kashyap and his sister's son-in-law, Hubalal alias Deepak, have been named as the main accused. Dharmaraj also alleged that his sisters Satna and Karmeita, along with Satna's daughter Shobha, conspired to commit the murder.
