Kuwait City, July 18 -- Kuwait today said it intercepted Iranian missiles and drones after a water desalination plant was struck, triggering a fire in the second such attack in two days on the Gulf nation, which relies on desalination for about 90 per cent of its drinking water.
Several firefighters and a plant worker were injured while tackling two other blazes caused by Iranian strikes, according to the Kuwait Fire Force.
Kuwait also reported an attack on an oil facility, prompting the country's Foreign Ministry to accuse Iran of deliberately targeting civilian sites and critical infrastructure.
