Kuwait City, June 3 -- The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on Wednesday declared two Iranian diplomats "persona non grata" in response to Iranian drone and ballistic missile strikes on Kuwaiti territory.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the ministry said it summoned the acting charge d'affaires of the Iranian embassy in Kuwait and delivered a formal protest note. It also announced a decision to reduce the size of the Iranian diplomatic mission.
The two diplomats have been ordered to leave Kuwait within 24 hours, according to the statement.
Kuwait strongly condemned the Iranian attacks, stating it retains a "full and inherent right" to defend its sovereignty and take all necessary measures to protect its security.
