Mumbai, April 2 -- The Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to BEST driver Sanjay More for his involvement in the December 2024 Kurla electric-bus crash that killed nine people, while calling the lack of practical training for e-bus drivers "shocking."Justice R. M. Joshi, in an order delivered today, noted that BEST was contractually required to provide at least seven days of training but cut it to three days of simulator-only sessions, with no on-road practice.
"There could absolutely be no justification for not providing adequate training to the drivers before they are called upon to drive buses carrying passengers on busy roads in Mumbai," the court observed, adding that the truncated training "apparently. led to the occurrence of...
