Srinagar, July 29 -- A court in Srinagar has convicted a Kupwara resident for fraudulently securing appointment as a constable in the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) battalion by using a forged XII qualification certificate.
The conviction was secured by the Crime Branch Kashmir, now known as the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir, in a long-pending recruitment fraud case.
The Special Mobile Magistrate, 13th Finance Commission/Railway Magistrate, Srinagar, convicted Nazir Ahmad Malik, a resident of Bunpora Trehgam Kupwara, for offences punishable under Sections 420 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
