Kolkata, Sept. 26 -- Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh alleged that his car was attacked with stones, eggs and iron rods at Uttarpara in Hooghly on Saturday while he was on his way to attend Mamata Banerjee's public meeting in Serampore.
According to Ghosh, several people stopped his vehicle at the Sakher Bazar area of Uttarpara and started throwing stones and eggs at it.
He alleged that the attackers also struck the car with iron rods, smashing its front windshield.
"I sat beside the driver. Stones were thrown targeting me. The front windshield shattered, leaving glass shards scattered all over my body," Ghosh said.
He alleged that larger stones were brought in and thrown at the vehicle after the windshield did not break initially.
