Mandya (Karnataka), June 9 -- : union Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the Congress of orchestrating a political campaign to weaken the BJP-JD(S) alliance in Karnataka, alleging that its recent expressions of sympathy for former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda were aimed at creating distrust between the two partners ahead of crucial elections.

In a sharp political broadside delivered here, Kumaraswamy dismissed reports that Chief Minister DK Shivakumar intended to seek his counsel, saying any such meeting would serve only as a "photo opportunity" rather than a serious political consultation.
