Hyderabad, April 1 -- Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) has written to union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw seeking the immediate formation of a new Railway Division with headquarters at Kazipet in Telangana.
In his letter, KTR pointed out that the Secunderabad Division is currently overburdened, handling over 2,700 track kilometres, which is expected to rise further with ongoing expansions. He said this exceeds the optimal administrative limits compared to other divisions, affecting efficiency and management.
He proposed that key sections such as Kazipet-Balharshah, Peddapalli-Nizamabad, and Kazipet-Yerrupalem be brought under the new division, creating a balanced network aligned with railway norms.
