Hyderabad, May 24 -- Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday strongly criticised the Congress government over its reported decision to introduce prepaid electricity meters in the state, alleging that the move was aimed at scrapping free power for farmers and privatising the electricity sector.
Addressing a meeting of key party functionaries in Amberpet in the city, KTR alleged that the Congress government was planning to install prepaid meters on agricultural motors and in households across Telangana to gradually withdraw the free electricity scheme.
