Hyderabad, Aug. 26 -- Rajya Sabha MP and National BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah has urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to immediately issue a DSC notification to fill around 34,000 vacant teacher posts across government, aided, residential, model and Kasturba schools in Telangana.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Krishnaiah said more than 14,000 teacher posts were vacant in government schools alone, affecting the teaching of English, Mathematics and Science in around 14,000 schools and contributing to declining student enrolment.
He said vacancies included 5,900 in aided schools, 9,000 in SC/ST/BC/Minority residential schools, 3,000 in Model Schools and 1,500 in Kasturba schools.
