KPSC irregularities: IAS officer Gyanendra taken into CID custody

Bengaluru, Aug. 30 -- The Karnataka CID has taken IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar into custody in connection with alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment examination for veterinary officers, escalating the probe into the recruitment process.

The former KPSC Controller of Examinations was taken into custody late Saturday after more than 21 hours of questioning over two days, sources said.

Gyanendra had served as Controller of Examinations when the recruitment process was conducted for 400 veterinary officer posts. Investigators are examining allegations involving manipulation of OMR sheets, marks and examination records.
