Mumbai, May 12 -- Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) National President and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar on Monday described the coastal district of Konkan as a "divine land shaped by the hard work of its people" and said the region forms the backbone of Maharashtra's development.
She was speaking at a public gathering held after the groundbreaking ceremonies for various development works in the jurisdiction of the Roha-Ashtami Municipal Council.
Recalling Ajitdada's emotional bond with the region, Pawar said he always stood firmly for Konkan and had immense affection for its people. "I know this closely because I was his life partner. He deeply loved the people here," she said.
