Mumbai , July 7 -- Future development projects in the Konkan region will be planned only after ensuring the complete protection of its prehistoric rock carvings, which constitutes vital evidence of human evolution, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar told the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, adding that a comprehensive plan has been prepared for the conservation and development of the sites.
The issue was raised through a starred question by MLA Vitthal Langhe, following which MLAs Bhaskar Jadhav, Shekhar Nikam, Vikrant Pachpute and Nana Patole participated in the discussion.
