Kolkata, Sept. 5 -- Kolkata police Commissioner Ajay Nand has issued notice to all officials and police stations to prevent overcrowding at the marquees during the upcoming Durga puja festival.
The notice made available to the media on Saturday said, "Special attention must be paid this year to prevent overcrowding at Puja pandals and to avoid any accidents resulting from such crowds".
The directive, issued to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of every police station, followed a virtual meeting held by Nand on Friday. Senior officials from the city police headquarters Lalbazar and the OCs attended the meeting.
