Kolkata, Sept. 17 -- After a hiatus of about a week, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Thursday resumed its intensified food safety drive, carrying out zone-wise inspections across the city.

The day's inspection focused mainly on the Golpark area, known for its cluster of eateries and popularity among food lovers.

The drive began at a prominent sweet shop, where civic officials reportedly found several hygiene-related violations during food preparation. The team found non-consumable ingredients and a feather inside a packet of namkeen, following which the spices were discarded and the shop was instructed to maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene in its food preparation area.
