Kolkata, Oct. 24 -- The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has deployed around 611 personnel, including senior and junior officers, to oversee Durga idol immersion at 27 ghats over four days.
Those assigned to immersion duty include joint municipal commissioners, the municipal secretary, chief engineers and chief managers, among other officials.
The civic body has also kept 43 medical teams on round-the-clock standby, along with eight vector control teams and seven ambulances across the 27 ghats.
