Kolkata, Sept. 29 -- With commuter footfall expected to rise on Saturdays and Sundays, Kolkata Metro Railway has decided to operate additional services on the Blue, Green and Yellow lines on weekends ahead of Durga Puja.
According to the city metro office, the additional services will be run on October 3, 4, 10 and 11 to cater to the increased rush of pre-Puja shoppers.
Considering the expected crowd, the Blue Line will operate 272 services instead of the usual 252 on Saturdays, including October 3 and 10. The Green Line will have 236 services against the usual 212, while the Yellow Line, which currently operates 92 commercial services, will run 120.
