Kolkata, June 14 -- The long-pending issue surrounding the relocation of the historic mosque located near the runway of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here, is expected to move towards resolution, with airport authorities indicating that work will commence once formal directions are received from the Central government.

According to airport sources, preparations are underway for shifting the over 130-year-old Bakra Mosque, situated close to the airport's secondary runway. The structure is believed to predate the airport itself and has remained at the centre of discussions over airport expansion for several decades.
