Kolkata, June 3 -- In a major infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving passenger convenience and handling rising air traffic, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has expanded key facilities at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here, sources said.
The AAI sources said an additional 966 square metres of space has been commissioned at the departure level of the existing terminal building. The newly developed area has been designed to ease congestion and enhance passenger comfort by increasing seating capacity in the domestic departure section as well as the swing gate zone, which caters to both domestic and international travellers.
