Kolkata, June 6 -- The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) on Saturday lodged a police complaint against 'Suruchi Sangha', a South Kolkata club run by former Bengal Minister Aroop Biswas and his brother Swarup, alleging that the club authorities have forcibly occupied 21 cottahs of land belonging to the CPSU.

The written complaint was filed at the New Alipore Police Station.

It may be mentioned that Swarup Biswas was arrested on Thursday night on multiple charges including extortion, criminal intimidation and molestation. Charges under the Arms Act were also slapped against him. He has been remanded to police custody for 14 days.
