Kolhapur, Sept. 3 -- State Minister for Animal Husbandry, Environment and Climate Change Pankaja Munde has asserted that veterinary science, modern technology and research should be used to increase the standard of living and income of livestock farmers.
Improving the health, productivity and management of livestock can give a big boost to the rural economy, said Munde, addressing the inaugural function of Shri Siddhgiri Veterinary Science College at Shri Kadshiddhesgwar Siddhiri Math, Kaneri of this district.
She also said that veterinary colleges should not be just degree-granting institutions but should work as knowledge and technology centers that solve the problems of livestock farmers.
