Kolkata, Aug. 25 -- Officials of a private blood bank in Kolkata were summoned to Swasthya Bhavan -- the health department headquarters -- on Tuesday to submit relevant documents pertaining to its operations.
The health department in an audit conducted over private blood bank operations across West Bengal had found that Life Care Blood Bank had sold plasma and blood products outside the state without following the standard operating procedures (SOP) laid down by the health department.
