Dimapur, March 24 -- The Kohima district tuberculosis elimination programme and National Health Mission Nagaland on Tuesday honoured 22 TB-free villages in Kohima district for 2025 with gold, silver and bronze medals, with Seiyha Phesa village receiving the gold.
They were felicitated on World TB Day observed at the Kohima DC's conference hall under the theme "Yes! We Can End TB; Led by Bharat, Powered by Janbhagidari".
The TB-free villages were honoured under the TB Mukt Panchayat Initiative, which aims to create healthy competition and recognise the efforts of village councils in eliminating TB.
Following verification by the district team, certificates with one-year validity are awarded annually on World TB Day.
