Kolkata, Aug. 27 -- A confrontation broke out at Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's office on Camac Street on Thursday after Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials, accompanied by police, moved to remove a billboard allegedly installed illegally on the building.
The action led to heated exchanges between Banerjee and the civic officials, followed by a scuffle inside the office and slogans by TMC supporters.
Civic personnel eventually forced their way to the rooftop and removed a banner carrying the TMC name from the billboard.
Work was subsequently initiated to dismantle the billboard structure.
