Kolkata, June 9 -- With the board of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation being dissolved, uncertainties have developed over the signatory powers of the councillors of the civic body.

The state government dissolved the board at KMC yesterday in a notification that came after the resignation of the former mayor, Firhad Hakim.

The government also appointed municipal secretary Smita Pandey as the administrator, empowering her with the authority to run the civic body.

With the board being dissolved, the authority of the councillors to sign certificates for their residents was in doubt, according to a corporator.
