New Delhi, April 10 -- Delhi Police has arrested a 38-year-old kingpin of a deception-based cheating racket that preyed on women outside hospitals and temples across the capital, an officer said Friday.
According to the police, the accused, Paro (38), had been absconding since 2023 and was declared a Proclaimed Offender in two cases.
The gang operated with a calculated modus operandi, targeting women who appeared vulnerable or alone in crowded yet sensitive locations such as hospital premises and temple complexes, police said.
In a case that was reported at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, the victim was manipulated into parting with her gold ornaments.
