London/Washington, April 29 -- King Charles III presented President Donald Trump with a ceremonial bell from a World War II-era British submarine - known as HMS Trump - during a state dinner at the White House on Tuesday, in a gesture steeped in wartime history and symbolism.

The polished brass bell, engraved with Trump's name and the year 1944, dates back to a submarine that left a UK shipyard during WWII and went on to serve in the Pacific theatre.
