Bhubaneswar, Feb. 12 -- In a landmark move for heritage preservation, the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) is poised to play a transformative role in protecting Asia's unprotected Buddhist sites.

The initiative marks a significant step toward safeguarding vulnerable rural heritage landscapes through legal, academic, and community-driven frameworks.

An International Academy for the Preservation and Management of Unprotected Buddhist Heritage and Sites in Rural Areas is being established by the Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development.

The initiative is being led intellectually and strategically by Professor Dr. Amareswar Galla, Pro-Chancellor and Professor at KIIT and KISS.
