Ranchi, March 7 -- Rajya Sabha MP Khiru Mahto was on Saturday elected unopposed as the Jharkhand unit president of the Janata Dal (United) for the third time.
The election was held at the party's state office in Ranchi during the organisational polls of the party.
The decision was taken unanimously in the presence of organisational election in charge Shrawan Kumar.
After the election, State Election Officer Shrawan Kumar handed over the certificate of election to Mahto.
Along with the state president, more than a dozen district presidents and members of the state council from each Assembly constituency were also elected.
Party workers congratulated Mahto after the announcement of the results and welcomed his re-election.
