Patna, June 25 -- Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal Wednesday announced that people who have been residing for decades on Khask Mahal lands in various districts of the state would soon be granted ownership rights under a proposed policy of the state government.
Jaiswal told newspersons here that residents living for 60 to 70 years on Khask Mahal lands in districts such as Sasaram, Purnea, Katihar and other areas have not yet received legal ownership of the properties they occupy.
He said the department would initiate consultations with stakeholders after August 15 to determine the percentage of market value that should be charged from occupants before converting such lands into freehold properties. "The state gov...
