Lucknow, Nov. 17 -- The students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Schools (KGBV) sparked a silent revolution in sports this year, filling the Uttar Pradesh with pride and surprise.
In the year 2025-26 school sports competitions, 504 KGBV girls competed as a single unit, proved their strength in 22 sports disciplines, and made history by winning 50 medals including five gold, 10 silver, and 35 bronze medals.
The performance was so significant that 24 girls have been selected for state level teams, where they received 10 days of residential training across different districts. The selection process is still in progress, and more names are expected to be added.
