Kochi, April 2 -- The Kerala High Court on Wednesday permitted an election petition challenging the 2024 Lok Sabha victory of union Minister Suresh Gopi from Thrissur to proceed for trial, rejecting his plea to dismiss the case at the preliminary stage.
Justice Kauser Edappagath held that the petition, which alleges corrupt practices during the election campaign, is maintainable and warrants detailed examination.
However, the Court struck down one allegation concerning the distribution of umbrellas, while retaining other charges for trial.
