Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 11 -- Kerala has the potential to become India's largest milk producer, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development J Chinchurani said today.
She noted that the state government is implementing several initiatives aimed at enhancing milk production and achieving self-sufficiency in the dairy sector.
Chinchurani was speaking after inaugurating a one-day state-level seminar jointly organised by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), known by its brand Milma, to mark the International Year of Cooperatives declared by the United Nations. The seminar, themed "Prosperity Through Cooperation," also coincided with the diamond jubilee of NDDB.
