Chennai, March 12 -- Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar was on Thursday sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.,Madras High Court Chief Justice S A Dharmadhikari administered the oath of office to Mr Arlekar at a simple function held at Lok Bhavan.

Chief Minister M K Stalin, Ministers, and leaders of various political parties took part in the swearing-in ceremony.

Mr Arlekar, who had been serving as Governor of Kerala, has been given additional charge as TN Governor after incumbent R N Ravi was posted as West Bengal Governor, ending his 54 onths tumultous tenureUpon his posting as West Bengal Governor, Mr Ravi left Chennai yesterday after being accorded a Guard of Honour by the State police at the airport.
