Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 2 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has written to union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman seeking a judicial inquiry into the death of entrepreneur C.J. Roy, head of the Confident Group, who died during an Income Tax search operation in Bengaluru on January 30, 2026.

Calling the incident a serious blot on the country's tax administration, the Chief Minister said the tragedy raised grave concerns about due diligence, procedural lapses, and the safety of individuals during search and seizure operations.
