Kannur, March 19 -- Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday filed his nomination as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate from the Dharmadam constituency for the Assembly election scheduled to be held on April 9.

Vijayan was the first candidate to file his nominations from the Dharmadam constituency for this election. He submitted his papers at the Thalassery District Registrar's office around 11:00 am, where they were received by District Registrar Sachin Krishnan.

The deposit amount required for his candidature was handed over by office bearers of the Pathanapuram Gandhi Bhavan and contributed by its women residents.
