Thiruvananthapuram, June 7 -- Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan on Sunday condoled the demise of veteran Malayalam actor Salim Kumar, describing him as a fearless artist, a proud son of his native place, and a close companion whose loss was deeply personal.

In a heartfelt message, Satheesan said Salim Kumar was much more than a man who made people laugh. "He shared an intense emotional bond with me and was a source of pride for our land," he said.

Recalling the actor's strong political convictions, Satheesan said Salim Kumar never hesitated to openly state his beliefs and remained firm in his stand regardless of personal losses.
