Kozhikode, May 14 -- Amidst uncertainty over the next Chief Minister of Kerala, the Indian union Muslim League (IUML) today announced that it is ready to wait for the official announcement on the chief ministerial candidate from the Congress high command.

An emergency meeting of the high-powered committee of IUML was held today at Panakkad in Malappuram, where it was decided to authorize its state president, Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal, to announce the party's steps forward after the Congress high command takes a decision on Kerala's next chief minister.

IUML general secretary P K Kunhalikutty said the party leadership had authorised Shihab Thangal to take further decisions on the matter.
