Thiruvananthapuram, June 27 -- Kerala BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar has urged the state government to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged gold theft at the Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala and unconditionally withdraw all criminal cases registered against Ayyappa devotees who participated in protests to protect the temple's traditional customs.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, Chandrasekhar sought the government's immediate intervention in what he described as serious issues concerning Sabarimala, saying both matters were of immense importance to millions of Ayyappa devotees.
