New Delhi, May 6 -- Activities around the formation of a new government in Kerala have intensified, with the deliberations over the selection of the Chief Minister entering the final stage.

The Congress high command has taken the process forward by sending senior leaders Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik to the state as observers.

Both leaders are scheduled to arrive in Kerala on Wednesday evening, after meeting Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. On Thursday morning, a meeting of the Kerala Congress Legislative Party will be held, during which the MLAs will express their opinions.
