Kasaragod, Feb. 22 -- A 24-year-old woman ended her life due to mental distress following false allegations of theft of 9.5 sovereigns of gold from the neighbours house during a marriage function at Adhur.
The deceased, identified as Jaseela (24) of Muliyar, has two children. She allegedly consumed a poisonous substance on February 15 and died yesterday while undergoing medical treatment in a private hospital at Alambadi near Kasaragod.
In a video shot before taking the extreme step, Jaseela claimed that she was innocent and the truth will prove it later. "They alleged that I stole the gold which went missing from my friend's house, near my husband's residence. How can I return what I have not taken, why are they embarrassing me like this...
