Kochi, March 2 -- In an inspiring turn of events, Sreekutty, the young survivor of the brutal Varkala train attack that had sent shockwaves across Kerala, was discharged from Amrita Hospital today after months of intensive medical care and rehabilitation.
The native of Palode in Thiruvananthapuram district is now returning home, marking a remarkable recovery from life-threatening injuries.
Sreekutty had first been admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram immediately after the incident. Owing to the severity of her condition, she was later shifted to Amrita Hospital on December 25, 2025, for specialised treatment.
