Thiruvananthapuram, May 31 -- Civil Police Officer Pratheesh Prasad of Vakathanam Police Station has earned widespread appreciation for his courageous and humane act of retrieving a decomposed body from a pond after others found the task difficult to undertake.
The body of a man was discovered in a pond at Vakathanam in Kottayam district. Having remained in the water for nearly three days, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, making its recovery a challenging task. Volunteers and local residents reportedly struggled to bring the body ashore because of the foul smell and condition of the remains.
