Thiruvananthapuram, June 16 -- BJP Kerala State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Tuesday alleged that the Kerala government's decision to constitute a high-power committee after 41 people reportedly died due to monsoon-related infectious diseases was an attempt to cover up "criminal negligence" and mislead the public.
In a statement, Rajeev Chandrasekhar said the government had failed to take timely preventive measures despite the annual recurrence of monsoon-related disease outbreaks.
He alleged that the Health Department did not adequately strengthen disease prevention, public awareness, or healthcare preparedness, resulting in avoidable loss of lives.
