Kottayam, Feb. 12 -- Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala today alleged large-scale corruption in the conduct of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam and demanded a detailed investigation into the expenditure incurred for the event.
Talking to newspersons here, Chennithala claimed that the government-organised programme, which reportedly cost Rs 7 crore, had turned into a platform for major financial irregularities.
He questioned the rationale behind spending such a huge amount on a conference that concluded by noon, stating that such expenditure could only point to serious corruption.
