Alappuzha (Kerala), April 17 -- Former Governor and senior BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan has strongly criticised an advertisement released by a restaurant in Cherthala, alleging that its depiction of Lord Krishna was offensive and had deeply hurt Hindu religious sentiments.

In a Facebook post, he said the promotional material issued by 'Mehar Mandi & Grills', owned by a local leader of Indian union Muslim League was highly objectionable and amounted to an insult to faith.

He pointed out that during Vishu, a festival celebrated with devotion and purity by Hindus across the world, the depiction of Lord Krishna in connection with a non-vegetarian dish (Kuzhimandi) was not merely inappropriate but a deliberate provocation.
